JEROME COUNTY has shown steady population growth over the last ten years. The population has risen from 15,511 in 1991 to 18,703 in 2002, an increase of 19.0 percent. Much of the growth in population has been due to outstanding economic development that has taken place in Jerome County in the last decade. The dairy industry has increased dramatically and the resulting businesses like Jerome Cheese, WestFarm Foods, Inc., WOW Logistics, and Wal-Mart have made Jerome County an attractive place to work. . MINIDOKA COUNTY's population has remained static in the last ten years. The population was 20,064 in 1992 and 19,465 in 2002. This area is heavily dependent upon agriculture and food processing jobs. Per capita income has increased from $14,173 in 1992 to $19,664 in 2002 ranking Minidoka County 36th out of Idaho's 44 counties in per capita income.*

CASSIA COUNTY has experienced slow growth over the last ten years. The population has risen from 20,150 in 1992 to 21,720 in 2002, an increase of 8.0 percent, as the area is highly dependent on agriculture. Cassia County has abundant natural resources and recreational opportunities. Burley is located on the Snake River and it is a very short distance to the City of Rocks and Pomerelle Ski Resort.
